Species
Taxon distribution as listed in assessment
Within the UAE it is known from a single low altitude locality within the Ru'us al-Jibal (Feulner 2011). Globally, this species is native to Africa, the Arabian Peninsula and through to Pakistan according to Plants of the Wold online (Board of Trustees, RBG Kew 2019). However, there appears to be some uncertainty; Randall (2017) considers it a weed, dispersed by humans and livestock, that is native to Africa, whilst Pahlevani (2017) considers it native to Asia (Saudi Arabia and Yemen only) and Africa.

Assessment rationale/justification
Whilst Feulner (2011) recorded this species from a single locality in the Ru'us al-Jibal, Jongbloed et al. (2003) considered it to be a garden weed, suggesting a more widespread distribution, but also raising a question over the origin of the species in the UAE, and recent publications (Pahlevani 2017, Randall 2017) do not place the UAE within the native range of the species. The species is placed here as Data Deficient pending further research.
