Assessment rationale/justification
This vole has very strict habitat requirements and it is mostly found within the Carolinian Forest zone, which is under heavy pressure from human development. Populations are fragmented and undergo wide fluctuations in numbers. Because of its fossorial habits, presence and abundance of this vole are difficult to document, but almost all records from the past 25 years are confined to a small section of Ontario.; Ce campagnol possède des exigences très strictes en matière d'habitat.
