Given that the majority of the foodplant occurs in the north and west, as well as the species being missing from the standard identification reference of Benson (1958), a status of DD seems warranted, as the records are insufficient to say whether the species is threatened or not.

Whilst the data are close to providing justification of a status of VU under B2, species of commercial forestry are very under-recorded and so it seems more appropriate to retain the status of Least Concern rather than assigning a Near Threatened status.

No records since 1963 so potentially RE. However, both records were from Sutherland, which is not at all well-recorded. Without at least some targeted fieldwork, both LC and CR seem equally feasible, and so DD is indicated.
