Within the UAE this species occurs throughout the Hajar Mountains, but has also been recorded from Jebel Hafeet (Jongbloed et al. 2003). In general it appears to persist at low to medium elevations (Feulner 2011). Globally, the native range of this species spans from Oman and the UAE to Iran and Pakistan (Board of Trustees, RBG Kew 2019).

This species is known to grow within gravel wadis, plains and on rocky slopes (Western 1991, Jongbloed et al. 2003). This is an annual herb species which grows up to 25 cm in height (Jongbloed et al. 2003, El-Keblawy and Abdelfatah 2014). It is sticky and hairy with spoon-shaped, smooth-edged leaves that grow close to the base of the plant (Jongbloed et al. 2003). Between February and July, small white-pink flowers can be seen (Jongbloed et al. 2003).
