Within the UAE, it is thought to be recorded from the Hajar Mountains and the Ru'us al-Jibal (Jongbloed et al. 2003). It has been observed at altitudes up to 1,600 m in the Ru'us al-Jibal (Feulner 2011). Globally, the native range of this species spans from the Mediterranean to the Arabian Peninsula (Board of Trustees, RBG Kew 2019), including Socotra.

It is an annual species that can grow up to 0.25 m in height (Jongbloed et al. 2003). The plant is covered in fine white hair and has lance-shaped leaves, in addition to white or pink flowers which can be seen between February and April (Jongbloed et al. 2003). It is generally found growing in silt between rocks in wadis and fallow fields (Jongbloed et al. 2003). In Oman, the species is found in the foothills of the mountains, on stony slopes, in dry runnels, and amongst stones and rocks, from 450-“1,200 m (S. Ghazanfar pers. comm. 2019).
