Taxon distribution as listed in assessment
In the UAE, the species is found in the Hajar Mountains and in the Ru'us al-Jibal (Jongbloed et al. 2003, MEW 2010). In the Ru'us al-Jibal, the species is found to c.1,250 m elevation (Feulner 2011). The species occurs in the Wadi Wurayah National Park (Feulner 2016), and on the lower slopes of ravines in the 'Olive Highlands' in the southern part of the Hajar Mountains in the UAE. RBGE Herbarium holds records from Fujairah (between <a href=""https://data.rbge.org.uk/search/herbarium/?cfg=fulldetails.cfg&specimen_num=20196"">Khatt and Dibba</a>, north of <a href=""http://data.rbge.org.uk/herb/E00014172"">Masafi</a>), and from near <a href=""http://data.rbge.org.uk/herb/E00014175"">Khatt </a>(Ras Al Khaimah). The global range of this species is through the Arabian Peninsula to north-east Africa (Board of Trustees, RBG Kew 2019).

It is a small erect annual plant that is found in wadis, plantations, rocky and stony hillsides, in addition to shelter amongst rocks (MEW 2010, Feulner 2011, 2014). Feulner (2016) found it flowering in the winter following autumn rains.
