Assessment rationale/justification
This species is described as locally common within its preferred rocky habitat of the Ru'us al-Jibal, where it occurs at a range of altitude. In addition, it also occurs in a National Park. Although grazing may impact the species, it is currently unclear the scale and scope of this impact. Therefore, the species is assessed as Least Concern.

It appears to prefer rocky environments and can be described as a characteristic species of this environment, being easily identified by its orange tussocks (Feulner 2011).
Threats and conservation measures listed
Threats listed in assessment
Over-grazing may affect this species in parts of its range (Feulner 2011). However, it is still unclear whether this poses a major threat to the plant.
