Assessment rationale/justification
The black bear has undergone some loss in its historic range but still occurs in large numbers over a very large range. The habitat is generally secure and there is no clear indication of overall population decline.; L'ours noir a subi certaines pertes dans son aire de répartition historique, mais on le trouve encore en grand nombre dans une très grande aire de répartition.
