Meriones tamariscinusis threatened by habitat degradation and humandisturbance. This species has an extent ofoccurrence of less than 5,000 km2, is restricted tofewer than fi ve locations, and is experiencing a67continuing decline in habitat extent and quality, therefore it qualifi es as Endangered underCriterion B1ab(iii). The assessment remains unchanged following application of regionalcriteria as there is no signifi cant immigration from adjacent countries.
