Assessment rationale/justification
This taxon has been presently synonymised with Crocidora suaveolens (Wes Sechrest, pers. comm.). Its record in South Asia is doubtful. Crocidura pullata which was earlier synonymised with C. gueldenstaedtii has been resurrected again as a distinct species
