Assessment rationale/justification
Previously found in LMNP and KVNP but now extinct from both these parks. At risk of extinction without urgent conservation measures. Pian Upe (EOO + AOO is 2154km2). A severe drought is considered a potential extinction risk throughout its remaining range. Population total estimated at 70 (estimate from Sport Hunting concession 2014), therefore population size (mature individuals) well below this.

Roosts not observed in Uganda, likely to be in small colonies, susceptible to extraction or natural loss of preffered roosts presumed to be hollow trees. Kalinzu may have the only viable population of this species based on capture results in the Mid-1990s.
