Assessment rationale/justification
The range of this forest-dwelling rodent has decreased following habitat destruction through forestry and urbanization, and some of the remaining area of occupancy is at risk from these same activities. Its dispersal abilities are limited and recolonization of suitable habitat is very slow, leading to population fragmentation.; L'aire de répartition de ce rongeur sylvicole a diminué à la suite de la destruction de l'habitat par la foresterie et l'urbanisation. Ces deux même éléments mettent également en péril certaines des zones d'occupation restantes. Sa capacité à se disperser est limitée, et la colonisation d'un habitat convenable se fait très lentement, ce qui mène à la fragmentation de la population.
