Assessment rationale/justification
A distinct subspecies that appears to have greatly declined in density and whose habitat has been severely affected by introduced mammals. A comparison of results of a recent, intensive sampling program with historic trapping records suggests a decline in numbers.; Une sous-espèce distincte qui semble avoir beaucoup diminué en densité et dont l'habitat semble avoir été gravement perturbé par la présence de mammifères introduits. Une comparaison des résultats entre les données provenant d'un programme récent et approfondi d'échantillonnage et les données historiques de piégeage révèle une diminution du nombre d'individus.
