This species is reportedly widespread throughout the western part of the Hajar Mountain range in the UAE. In addition, it is known to occur in at least one protected area within this range. It is therefore assessed as Least Concern.

Within the UAE, it has been recorded from Wadi Ashwani, Jebel Hafeet and Jebel Qitab in the Olive Highlands (Jongbloed et al. 2003, Feulner 2014). It is considered to be widespread throughout the western Hajar Mountains (Feulner 2014). Globally, the native range of this species spans from the Sahara to India (Board of Trustees, RBG Kew 2019).

This perennial herb species has branched stems, heart shaped leaves covered in hairs, pink flowers (present between February and May) and fruit covered in hair (Jongbloed et al. 2003, Norton et al. 2009). Within the Wadi Wurayah National Park, it has been recorded from a gravel wadi dam subject to intermittent flooding, in addition to waste ground and gravel terraces (Feulner 2016).
