Assessment rationale/justification
The species is widespread and occasional throughout the Hajar Mountains (Jongbloed et al. 2003, Feulner 2016), locally common in the Ru'us al-Jibal (Feulner 2011), although diminutive and restricted to relatively mesic, sheltered microhabitats, e.g. where shaded by rocks or other vegetation

The species grows within sheltered, relatively mesic montane habitats, including wadis, mountain plantations and rocky hillsides (Jongbloed et al. 2003, Mahmoud et al. 2018). Found in sheltered microhabitats, e.g. where shaded by rocks or other vegetation (G.R. Feulner pers. comm. 2020). It is an annual herb, and produces very small purple flowers between January and April (Jongbloed et al. 2003, Mahmoud et al. 2018).
Threats and conservation measures listed
Threats listed in assessment
Grazing by livestock may impact the species in parts of its range (Shahid 2017), as might be said of many edible species, and impacts are likely to be low.
