Within the UAE, it is known from the Ru'us al-Jibal (Feulner 2011), the Hajar Mountains, and the sandy desert to the west of these mountains (Jongbloed et al. 2003). It occurs at low and medium elevations up to 1,100 m (Feulner 2011). This species is native to northern Africa and the Arabian Peninsula (Board of Trustees, RBG Kew 2019).

This is a annual or perennial herb species that can be found growing in stable sand in addition to within silt found in wadis and gravel terraces (Jongbloed et al. 2003, Mahmoud et al. 2018). This plant can grow up to 30 cm in height and has linear to oblong leaves mostly on the lower section of the stem (Jongbloed et al. 2003). White petalled flowers can be seen between February and April (Jongbloed et al. 2003).
