Threatened by exploitationand habitat loss through increasing resource extraction.This species has an extent of occurrence of less than5,000 km2 (approximately 2,000 km2), is restricted to three locations (two of which are sitesof conservation introductions into areas outside of its historic range), and is experiencing acontinuing decline in habitat extent and quality, qualifying it as Endangered under CriterionB1ab(iii). The assessment remains unchanged following application of regional criteria asthere is no signifi cant immigration from adjacent countries.

Assessment rationale/justification
This species has beenexperiencing a continuing decline in habitat extent andquality, through habitat degradation. Generation length hasbeen estimated as two to three years based on data fromMacdonald (2004). A population decline of at least 50%over the ten years is expected, qualifying it as Endangeredunder Criterion A3c. The assessment remains unchangedfollowing application of regional criteria as there is nosignifi cant immigration from adjacent countries.
